The Best Selling Children's Books for 2015

Hi, Jake here again. As a father of a young child, my wife and I have come across a myriad of books and spent hundreds of dollars on some great, and some not-so-great reading. I'd like to share with you some of what we have deemed the 'best of the best' that everyone in our family enjoys.

Reading to your child isn't a requirement, but a necessity. Our child enjoys us reading to her every day and takes the stories to make adventures throughout the day. We read an average of 10 books every day. Sure, it's a lot, but the joy we see is worth every minute.

Five Stars! This gorgeously illustrated pop-up book takes readers deep beneath the water’s surface where they are greeted with a symphony of new sounds. This aquatic adventure features a humpback whale that communicates with noisy roars and sighs and whose “songs” carry for hundreds of miles underwater. Children also discover the playful chattering of dolphins, the boisterous honking of seals, and much more. Maurice Pledger’s cunningly engineered pop-ups create an unforgettable 3-D seascape.

The pictures and sound come to life as each page turns. This is a lovely book that makes our son excited to learn more and more about sea life.

Many, many adults name this book as their favorite Little Golden Book. Generations of kids have interacted with lovable, furry old Grover as he begs the reader not to turn the page—for fear of a monster at the end of the book. “Oh, I am so embarrassed,” he says on the last page . . . for, of course, the monster is Grover himself! This all-time favorite is now available as a Big Little Golden Book—perfect for lap-time reading.

I wandered into the room of my best friend's three-year-old son, preparing to read him a book before he went to bed. When I saw this book among the pile on his floor, I got nostalgic. Really nostalgic. My mom read me the same book when I was his age, and I love, LOVE this book.

Children on the verge of reading learn best with plenty of identifiable images and rhythmic repetition. Amazon Review: This program is excellent. I regret that I did not introduce to my child a bit earlier. However at age 3, after 2 weeks, I'm already seeing progress.
